Gifts in memory or in honor of a loved one are an excellent way to cherish a special person or an important life event, such as a birthday or anniversary. Gifts may also be made in tribute to Good Shepherd Hospice employees or volunteers who are especially appreciated for their service.
Trees of Life are the centerpieces of our Lakeland, Auburndale and Sebring offices and hospice house lobbies. Individual or combined gifts of $1,000 or more are a lasting tribute, and are acknowledged with a golden leaf or stone on the tree of your choice.
Unrestricted gifts to support areas of need as they are recognized are equally appreciated. Although gifts in memory or in tribute are common, you may choose to make an outright, tax-deductible contribution to Good Shepherd Hospice.
Matching gifts are often available from your company of employment, even if you are retired. To find out if your gift to Good Shepherd Hospice is eligible for matching funds, contact the human resources department at your local corporate office.
Planned gift opportunities are available for individuals who wish to make a gift that will benefit Good Shepherd Hospice at a future date. There are several plans available, including gift arrangements that offer lifetime incomes, as well as tax advantages, for the donors. A representative of the development office will be happy to provide you with literature on these opportunities, or meet with you in person.
Special events are hosted by Good Shepherd Hospice during the year to raise charitable funds. These events are fun, open to the public, and directly benefit Good Shepherd Hospice programs. Visit our Upcoming Events page for more information.
There is some very helpful information about the tax implications of charitable giving available from Independent Sector. These two links concern IRA rollovers but their site has useful resources on a variety of topics
